Lord Kuber, the ‘treasurer of Gods’ and ‘ the King of Yaksha’ is a true representation of wealth, prosperity and glory in Hindu Mythology. He is regarded as the regent of the North (Dik-pala), and a protector of the world (Lokapala). Lord Kubera not only distributes but also maintains and guards all the treasures of this universe. Lord Kubera comes from the family tree of Lord Brahma. He is the son of Vishrava and Illavida. Vishrava also married the demon princess Kaikesi, who later on turned to be the mother of four children, whom we today know as Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Vibhishana, and Surpanakha. So in this way, Lord Kubera is also the half-brother of Ravana.

Kubera is married to Kauberi (कौबेरी) and they have four children. Three sons are called Nalakubara, Manigriva, Mayuraja and a daughter called Meenakshi. Devi Kauberi is also known as Yakshi, Bhadra and Charvi.

Kuber Mantra - story, chanting rules, benefits

He, who is known as the caretaker of all the wealth of the world, was once made fun of, because of his obese looks. Kuber undertook severe penance to please Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva, who was highly impressed by him, appeared in front of him and granted him the boon of being the custodian of all wealth after which all men started adoring Kuber.

‘Kuber’ in Sanskrit means ill Shaped or deformed. So, as per the meaning of the name, Lord Kuber is portrayed having a fat and dwarf body. He is depicted with a complexion similar to that of the lotus leaves. His body structure shows some deformities. He has three legs, only eight teeth and His left eye is yellow. Lord Kuber being the deity of wealth carries a pot or bag full of gold coins and is adorned with heavy jewelry.

He always rides the Pushpak Vimaan (flying chariot) gifted to him by Lord Brahma. Most of the texts refer Lord Kuber holding a mace, a pomegranate or a money bag in his hand. Some texts associate him with Mongoose while the others with the elephant.

Kubera’s existence goes beyond Hinduism, as he is also featured in the Jain and Buddhist mythologies. He is also known as the creator of Lanka, who built the Golden City Of Lanka. However, the glorious days of Lanka came to an end when Kubera’s stepbrother Ravana, with a boon from Brahma, ousted him.

Kuber Mantra is chanted to win the blessings of Lord Kuber. Shri Kuber Mantra

ॐ यक्षाय कुबेराय वैश्रवणाय धनधान्याधिपतये

धनधान्यसमृद्धिं मे देहि दापय स्वाहा॥

Om Yakshaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaya Dhanadhanyadhipataye

Dhanadhanyasamriddhim Me Dehi Dapaya Svaha॥”

Kuber Dhana Prapti Mantra

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं श्रीं क्लीं वित्तेश्वराय नमः॥

Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Shreem Kleem Vitteshvaraya Namah॥”

This mantra means that ‘I bow down to Kubera, the Lord of wealth and the destructor of all sorts of troubles in my life.’ If you want to attract wealth into your life, you need to sit in a meditational pose and chant this mantra. Indeed you will notice improvements in your finances. Furthermore, when you chant this mantra, make sure you imagine yourself getting all the money that you want. This mantra prevents any kind of financial losses and makes sure one only profits in their business, provided they chant the mantra carefully and with certain convictions.

Laxmi Kuber Mantra

Lord Kubera and Goddess Mahalakshmi will ensure that your all desires get fulfilled, once you start reciting this mantra with conviction and devotion. When Goddess Laxmi and Lord Kuber are worshipped together, it’s said that you attain more wealth and prosperity, provided you must chant this mantra properly.

Ways of chanting Kuber Mantra

There are certain things one must keep in mind while chanting Kuber Mantra. Kubera’s dwelling is supposed to be in the Himalayas and he is facing the South direction. So it is necessary to place him in the North at home. Kuber’s good graces increase a lot when it is a position in front of the Money cupboard.

Chanting of Kuber Mantra for genuine purposes shall bless an individual with wealth and prosperity and shall remove the debts crisis. However, chanting this mantra with evil, selfish and greedy purpose shall disprove the very purpose of this mantra and invite the wrath of Kuber.   • Kuber mantra can be chanted 108 times in a round and the cycle can be continued for 21 days for getting the desired results.
  • While chanting the mantras, the chanters must maintain physical purity and a clean state of mind.
