Overview of Prem Mandir at Vrindavan

The Prem Mandir, situated about two kilometers from the Banke Bihari temple, was built by Jagadguru Kripalu ji Maharaj on 14 January 2001. It took about 11-12 years to build the temple. Italian marble is used in this temple built entirely of white stones. The carvings of white marbles on the walls add to the grandeur of the temple. Artisans were called from Rajasthan besides Uttar Pradesh to make it. It is said that around 100/150 crore rupees were spent in the construction of this temple.

As you enter the temple premises, you will see a glimpse of Rajasthani craftsmanship in the walls of the temple. The doors and windows are beautifully carved. Precious stones have been used to glorify the walls and floors of the temple.

Furthermore, the entire life of Lord Shri Krishna such as the Victory over Kalia Nag, Raas Leela with the gopis, Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan mountain on the finger and the statues of all Brajwasis are beautifully depicted through tableaux. Every devotee who comes here gets mesmerized by seeing these tableaux. On the First floor, we could see the magnificent idols of Lord Krishna and Radha. While on the second floor Lord Rama and Sita idols are placed.

The fascination of the Prem Mandir increases manifold in the night when the whole temple takes a shower with colorful lights. Color changing lights throughout the complex greatly enhanced its beauty. A fountain in the courtyard of the temple is also opened every evening.

The temple is open on all days from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm. The Arathi program at the Prem Mandir is as follows:
